Fix the MLB teams #2: Washington Nationals

The Nationals have the worst record in the major leagues, were 24th in team ERA, 27th in AVG, 28th in Runs Scored, 18th in Stolen Bases, commited the 2nd most errors, and are in pretty good shape for the future. All they really have to do to be contenders in around 2010 is this:

1. Resign everybody on their team (including staff). They have a pretty good core with Zimmerman, Bonifacio, and Milledge for hitters, and Balester, Detwiler, Cordero, and whoever they draft with the 1st pick (Strasburg until further notice). They can get chemistry with their players, and Acta is a solid manager who is good with the small ball, not to mention the fact that most of the starting Nationals are below 30 years old.

2. Keep their players in line: Dukes and Milledge are cancers (and violent ones at that), insanely talented cancers with lots of potential, but cancers anyway, and Acta has to keep them in line. Easier said than done.

3. Get an Ace: When Tim Redding (10-11) and Joel Hanrahan (6-3, 3.95 ERA) are your best starters, you need an ace. (Strasburg works)
